Saloomeh Messchian
I’m a graduate in Art. I was born in Tehran, in the 1980s. As far back as I remember, I was interested in art. I grew up in such an educated artistic family who cared about art and still do. As I grew up, I grew up in art too. I added to my experiences. I reached a point where I felt a good sense of well-being with art, and from then onwards, I felt that it would set my soul free. I’m glad God had an eye on me and let me experience creation like Him. I studied art at university. But, outside the education system, art has always been a constant drive in my life. Thank goodness I was able to gather a good experience in most painting and sketching techniques. But I felt like sketching is the most important thing to me and I have always been practicing it during these years. Sketching is the major element in my work. I believe a painter should be a good and dexterous sketcher. I believe that a painter’s literacy is defined by their sketching abilities. I think almost every artist, including me, in whatever position they are, intends and seeks to develop their art, . My goal is to hold great domestic and foreign exhibitions, especially in the technique I’m working on right now, I mean Chalk Pastel. Few artists follow this style and I hope to motivate great artists to employ this technique and hold great exhibitions. In addition to art, which is not only my interest but my life, I am interested in squash and I have been practising it for years. I think, in addition to art, every artist should pursue a sport which is closer to their mood. I believe sports help create thought and motivation. As for me, it helps me create sketches in my mind. I’m really into music and I can’t remember a time when I was sketching and painting without music.
